While your company carefully analyzes its curated feedback channels, the real, unfiltered conversation about your products, services, and industry is happening elsewhere:


  • Reddit threads where users candidly discuss the limitations of your product

  • Twitter conversations where potential customers outline why they chose a competitor

  • Industry forums where technical users share workarounds for your product's shortcomings

  • Discord channels where passionate users brainstorm features they wish your product had


These unmonitored, unfiltered conversations contain the raw, honest feedback that rarely makes it through your official channels. They reveal not just what customers think about your current offerings, but what they truly want—often before they even recognize these desires as addressable needs.


Companies that recognize the filtered feedback fallacy can gain significant competitive advantages by systematically mining unfiltered consumer conversations.
